Appomattox at Gretna

GRETNA, Va. (WDBJ7)-- The 4-1 Gretna Hawks looked to get their night off to a hot start,
but it's Appomattox who'd hit the ground running as Tre Lawing stiff arms one defender to put the Raiders in the redzone.

After a couple of short runs, Lawing would hand the ball off to Christian Ferguson who'd take it up the middle for the touchdown, Raiders go up 7 to 0.

Next possession, Gretna comes back swinging with a long connection from Tabron Mabins to Daelyn Miller, putting them in striking distance.

The Raider defense would tighten up and come away with a sack on fourth down to regain possession.

On their next drive, Lawing pulls off a beautiful play-action to Bronson Williams, for a first down. That'd set up this run from Lawing as he takes it outside for a touchdown, extending the Raider lead 14 to 0
Trying to put points on the board before halftime, the Hawks drive down the field but somewhere in the middle of that scrum, Gretna fumbles giving to ball back to the Raiders.

Out of the half, a couple of plays sets up a short run into the endzone for Keyshawn Baker as the Appomattox Raiders go on to beat Gretna, 21 to 7.

Now, Gretna will look to find a spark in their offense as they take on Altavista next week, as for the Raiders they'll try and keep the ball moving against Dan River
