Blacksburg Product Lanto Griffin Finding His Way on PGA Tour

This week's Tribute to the Military on the Old White will be the closest thing to a home game as it can get for Blacksburg product Lanto Griffin.
Griffin is in the midst of his rookie season on Tour and he's learned to ride the roller coaster from week to week.
After toiling for several years on the mini tours, following his college career at VCU, Lanto Griffin earned his Tour card last November by finishing in the top 20 on the Tour money list.
"It's been a dream since I was 13 to be able to play out here every week," Griffin said Tuesday, "and see all the courses I grew up watching on TV and Tiger making his return this year, seeing him in the locker room and on the range, it's been a pretty awesome year."
Lanto thought about quitting more than once before this season, living week to week, paycheck to paycheck, but his story is a great lesson in perseverance.
"I'd say whatever your dreams are as a kid, just kind of keep working at them even when you don't think they're going to pan out as expected, just to keep fighting."
