Blake Carter, three others take home trophies at Roanoke Valley Match Play Championship

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) -- The Roanoke Valley Match Play Championship wrapped up its final two rounds at Ole Monterey Golf Club on Sunday.

In the amateur division, David Hudgins upset top-seeded Chase Bailey, 2-and-1, to advance to the finals.

His opponent was Blake Carter, who beat Matt Chandler, 3-and-2.

In the end, it was Carter who came out on top as the Amateur Match Play champion for the second time since 2014.

In the other brackets, Frank Moore won the senior division (ages 50-64), Jim Wright was the winner in the super senior division (ages 65-74) and Marvin Taylor was the grand master champion (ages 75 and up).

The annual tournament is open to all residents of Virginia who hold amateur status and have an established USGA Handicap.
