LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDBJ7) -- As Virginia prepares to play Purdue for the right to go to the Final Four for the first time since 1984, both teams expect a battle.

Both teams endured tough battles to get to the Elite Eight. Purdue blew a big lead against Tennessee before holding on to earn an opportunity for the school's first Final Four since 1980. Virginia traded punches with Oregon for most of the night before they emerged with its second final eight appearance under Tony Bennett.

The Cavaliers haven't been to the Final Four since 1984.

U.Va. has all but erased memories of its first-round collapse last year against UMBC. But as a No. 1 seed, only a Final Four berth will satisfy Bennett's Wahoos.
