DUBLIN, Va. (WDBJ7)-- Pulaski County was in bounce-back mode on homecoming night against Christiansburg following its first loss last week at Hidden Valley.
This game was all defense, and just before halftime, the Cougars drive was stopped by Michael Hunter with the diving INT in the redzone. The half would end with Pulaski up 7-6.
Late in the 3rd quarter with the score still 7-6, Ajani McCloud had a receiver open but just overthrows him, leading to the field goal unit. The kick came up short, and the score remains at 7-6 lead by the home team.
Pulaski starts to move the ball late in the fourth quarter with the run game, as Chris Shay runs people over for a big 15-yard run to move the sticks.
On the next play, McCloud keeps it himself and rumbles 14 yards for the first down and the Cougars are in business.
Three plays later, and Shay from one yard out walks it into the endzone and gives the Cougars an 8 point lead, 14-6. They went on to win by that score.
