SALEM, Va. (WDBJ) -- High school wrestling has taken over the Salem Civic Center this weekend for VHSL state championships in Classes 1,2, and 3.

In class 3, 17-time defending state champions Christiansburg High School, always representing well, with a wrestler in almost every weight class. Brandon Crowder getting it done for the Blue Demons in 120, winning by decision 13-3.

Last years' defending champ Garrett Kuchan in class 126, wasting no time moving on to the third round. 51 seconds is all he needed for the pin.

Head Coach Cliff Warden impressed with the hard work his team has put in without some key grapplers.

"We lost four state champions off of last years' team, so it's obviously during the off season everyone's got to get better to make up those points. Brandon and Garret, those two guys are year round commitment. It feels good when they get the reward or they get the payday they've earned over the last ten months," Christiansburg wrestling head coach Cliff Warden said.
