FFE Saturday State Final: Lord Botetourt falls to Hopewell, 35-7

Hopewell defeated Lord Botetourt, 35-7, for the Class 3 title Saturday.
In did not take long for Hopewell to stake their claim, starting with the second play from scrimmage, when Tre Henderson broke through a hole and down the sideline on a 61 yard score to make it 7-0.
After a Lord Botetourt interception, Henderson again, this time for a 15 yard TD that brings it to 14-0.
Cavs moved the ball, leading with Hunter Rice and a nice run inside the 14 before he gets stripped at the end of the play and the Blue Devils take over.
Late in the half, Lord Botetourt made a play from inside the five and stopped Henderson. Xavier Stephens came up with a strip of his own to keep it 14-0 at the half.
In the 3rd, it was 4th and 18, but Henderson slipped out of Stephens grasp in the backfield and scooted in for a 21-0 lead.
James Ryan Salvi then threw his second pick of the day. The Cavs had five turnovers and fell 35-7, ending the season at 14-1.
