Floyd County's Beale Set For 39th Season As Head Coach

With Jeff Highfill's retirement at William Byrd, Floyd County's Winfred Beale is the longest tenured high school football coach in our region. Beale is set to begin his 39th season with the Buffaloes next week.
"I'm excited every day," Beale said. "I feel as excited as I did back in 1975, and these kids with their effort and energy, provide me with effort and energy. I just look forward to it every morning."
Floyd County opens the season with Christiansburg and Beale hopes his ten seniors can help the Buffaloes get back to their winning ways.
