BLACKSBURG, Va. (WDBJ) -- Danielle Bartelstein, who previously served as Virginia Tech's senior director of football operations, has joined the College Football Playoff staff, the organization announced Monday.
Bartelstein will serve as the CFP's new director of team operations.
"Danielle has worked with several respected football programs across the country, and we are delighted to welcome her to the CFP staff," CFP executive director Bill Hancock said in a release. "Nothing we do is more important than creating a positive experience for student-athletes. Danielle's experience, knowledge and attention to detail will be a great addition."
In her role at Tech, Bartelstein oversaw the daily administrative and operational duties within Virginia Tech’s football program, the handling of team travel, and other assorted responsibilities, according to the team's website.
She was one of three females among Power 5 schools and one of just six in the FBS to have that title.
Bartelstein previously served as the director of football relations at Texas Tech from 2013-15. She also worked on the same staff as current VT head coach Justin Fuente at TCU, where she served as the assistant director of football operations from 2010-12.
