G.W. Danville wins first state championship in more than 20 years

RICHMOND, Va. (WDBJ7) -- It was George Washington, the Eagles from Danville against Louisa County in the Class Four boys title tilt.

G.W. in control early. Shunta Wilson gets to the rim and puts in the acrobatic lay in for the Eagles.

Then it's Wilson over to Taevon Walden and he scores 2 on the little scoop. The Eagles up 27-20 at halftime.

In the second half, they weathered the storm. Wilson slices thru the lane for another athletic bucket. He led all scorers with 29 points.

George Washington goes on to win it 55 to 44. It's the school's first state championship since 1998.
