The Spartans were out to extend that streak to three Friday.

But the Eagles struck first. After returning the opening kick inside the 20, they give it to Wesley Graves and he's got a nose for the endzone. The point after failed and it's 6-nothing George Washington.

Salem had a quick answer though. Hunter Chaney going up top for Shawn Collins who hauls it in for a 61 yard touchdown strike and it's 7-6 Spartans just two minutes in.

They extended the lead early in the second quarter. Cameron Leftwich gets the call and scores on the short yardage TD to make it 14-6.

Then how about some defense. Isaiah Persinger brings the pressure and the wood to quarterback Sha'Kobe Hairston, throwing him down and the Eagles had to punt it away.

Chauncey Logan in at QB now for Salem and he goes around the edge and picks up good yardage. A facemask penalty put the ball inside the 10.

Leftwich did the honors one more time to make it 21-6 and the Spartans are moving on thanks to the 48 to 21 win.
