The biggest addition in Highlander Heaven this offseason is the new artificial turf that is being installed in the Roanoke County stadium.

The Highlanders fell to Appomattox in last year's postseason, but they've been the model of consistency with at least 10 wins in four of the past five seasons. Plenty of pieces return, including leading rusher Brady Loder who could help the Highlanders get over the hump late in games.

"Really just finishing." says Coach Kevin Clifford. "Last year we were really close and we lost to the three time defending state champs and I thought we battled. Our kids left everything on the field. So, just finishing and I think, just trying to get better. If we get better every single day then everything else will play its way out."
