PEARISBURG, Va. (WDBJ7)-- Glenvar and Giles have had quite the history. They wrote the latest chapter Friday night in Pearisburg.
Giles wins the toss and wants the ball to start the game. The Spartans set the tone early with their running game as Dominic Collini finds the whole and runs 37 yards into Glenvar territory.
The Spartans then finish off the drive with a tricky double hand-off to Logan Greenway who takes it to the house, 17 yards and Giles is up 7-0 early.
Glenvar would try to answer on their next drive with a nice pitch-and catch from Aiden Wolk to Nicholas Seabolt, they pick up 11 on 3rd and ten, getting the 1st down.
This drive continued into the second quarter when Glenvar attempted a fake-punt, fooling everybody, and Bradley Loder takes the snap and runs 35 yards for the TD, we are tied at 7-7.
Glenvar's offense would put together another long drive, as Jebediah Secrist hauls in the long pass from Wolk, 33 yards and it sets up 1st and goal.
Two plays later it would be Loder with his second TD of the night, three yards out to put Glenvar up 14-7. Now under two minutes to go in the second quarter and the Spartans answered right back with Logan Greenway running left, then cutting back up the middle for the 15 yard TD run. It was all tied up 14-14 at the half. Glenvar pulled away in the second half to win 42-21.
