LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) -- At City Stadium in Lynchburg, Jefferson Forest and Heritage hoped to avoid a shootout Friday night, after combining for 80 points and 956 yards last season.
Heritage Runningback KJ Vaughan took it to the house on the third play of the game and the Pioneers were in business.
JF responded by getting the rock to tight end Danteas Braxton who shook off a couple of defenders and ran it in to tie the score up at 7 apiece.
The Pioneers Jabari Blake faked out the Cavs and our photographer.
He was in for another Heritage TD.
Krystian Rivera then got in on the action taking the handoff, then it was off to the races for another touchdown, and the scoreboard operator was busy again.
JF came right back with Keenan Cupit who found a seam and took off on the touchdown stroll.
But Heritage had just enough to win it 59-48 the final.
