Liberty rolls past Western Albemarle 35-14

CROZET, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Liberty traveled to Western Albemarle on Friday for the fifth meeting between the two since 2000. The Minutemen had won the previous four, but the host Warriors were riding a six-game winning streak.

With Liberty in front early 7-0, Aladdin El-Roumy scored from a yard out for a 14-0 lead.

In the second quarter, El-Roumy scooted around end and for another score and a 28-0 halftime lead.

Western Albemarle got to within 28-14, but the Minutemen closed the door when Carlos Lorenzo plowed into the end zone for an eight-yard score. Liberty, the No. 7 seed, pulled off a second straight upset, 35-14.

The Minutmen face Heritage next week.
