LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ)- Liberty University and first-year football coach Hugh Freeze have agreed to a new multiyear contract.

School president Jerry Fallwell Jr. announced the move on Twitter. It comes after Freeze guided the Flames to a bowl game in their first year of eligibility. The Flames will face Georgia Southern in the Cure Bowl on Dec. 21 in Orlando, Florida.

Details of the deal were not made available. But athletic director Ian McCaw says it is competitive with top Group of Five head coaches and will provide stability to Liberty's program while establishing itself at the FBS level.
