Liberty keeps grinding in the Atlantic Sun

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) -- The Liberty Flames erased a 10 point second half deficit on the road at Jacksonville to stay unbeaten in the Atlantic Sun Conference. That sets up a monumental showdown with fellow unbeaten Lipscomb in Lynchburg Tuesday night.

The Flames have matched their best start in school history at 18 and 4 and are the current owners of an 8 game winning streak. Coach Ritchie McKay's team has gotten it done with a suffocating defense and a balanced offensive attack with four players averaging double figures in points.

"We've got eight or nine guys that can score twenty points on a given night and to have that kind of balance and versatility in your offense, certainly makes you a tougher out," Liberty Head Coach Ritchie McKay said.

"It's great. We've got nine guys deep who can score the ball really efficiently, whether that's shooting the ball from outside or inside, or mid range. I takes a lot of pressure off of individual guys because we know that everybody is there and everybody can score," Liberty Forward Scottie James said.
