Liberty uses "off" week to get ahead for North Texas

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) -- Liberty University was one of the teams who opted for an off week in the face of Florence. But what did they do with that extra bye week?

Other than actually sitting down to watch a college game or two, they used the time to heal up from Army and study North Texas under a microscope.

"I think it got us mentally ready. You know a lot of guys with bumps and bruises had to get healed up and then just getting in and watching film. I think this week really helped us prepare for them," junior quarterback Stephen "Buckshot" Calvert said.

"Breakdown North Texas film, give the coaches time to install the different schemes we're gonna run against them. So it's giving everybody extra time to know what role they gotta play in defense this week," junior defensive lineman Juwan Wells said.

"We're well rested. I think our guys are excited to play, looking forward to this great competition. Again, it's gonna be one of the best offenses that we'll face throughout this whole season," head coach Turner Gill said.
