Longtime Jefferson Forest High School football coach Bob Christmas will resign at the end of the school year, according to Athletic Director Jedd Zaring.

Christmas also serves as a teacher at the school and will also resign from that position.

Officials with knowledge on the situation tell WDBJ7 that Christmas will move on to coach in Amherst County.

"We thank coach Christmas for all he's done for Jefferson Forest High School and wish him the best in his future endeavors. A search for a new head football coach has begun and we remain excited for the future of our football program," Zaring said.
