Narrows at Giles

GILES, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Narrows and Giles renewed their rivalry tonight in Pearisburg at Ragsdale Field.

The Green Wave had beaten the Spartans just once in the last 28 years.

Spartans start the night by giving yellow flowers to Narrows jv cheerleader Alexius Dawson who's been diagnosed with cancer.

Narrows with a deep pass to Matthew Morgan to kick off their first drive and that completion kept the chains moving.

Quarterback Chase Blaker looking for somewhere to throw but gets taken down by a stingy Giles' defense.

Spartans gets the ball back but their drive is short. Chaston Ratcliffe looking for somewhere to go, nothing there as the defensive struggle continued.

Narrows running back Chad Blaker runs the ball for the first down here but on the very next play, the snap gets away, resulting in a loss of 5 yards.

The Green Wave eventually found the endzone and won it 20 to 8, the school's second win over Giles since the early 90's.
