CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) -- As Saturday approaches, UVA basketball is preparing for the ACC no different than anything else.

Ninth ranked Florida State will make their way to John Paul Jones Arena to open up conference play with the number four Cavaliers.

Virginia will try to keep their undefeated record in tact as they enter into what head coach Tony Bennett calls "phase two" of the season.

"You know, this team, we always prepare well. We always prepare, more or less the same way. It's just really fun to see how our preparation pays off," redshirt sophomore forward Jay Huff said.

"We always break up our season into different phases. They went undefeated in phase one and that's no small thing. We wanted to try to win every game, but they did that. Now we go into phase two conference play. We understand how good the league is. We'll enjoy the New Year and then get ready to go against high level, athletic, ACC competition," head coach Tony Bennett said.

"We feel extremely confident heading into ACC play, as we do before every game. Just going out and doing what we do," junior guard Ty Jerome said.
