ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) -- Patrick Henry's Charlie Boxley has wanted to play for UVA since he was a little boy. That dream came true for the offensive lineman Wednesday, as he will join Bronco Mendenhall and the Cavaliers next fall.

"I'm pretty excited about it. I've been going to games there since I was a little boy, ever since I can remember. Now, that I get to be a part of it, especially that they're trending upward now too with a new head coach and a new staff, I'm really excited about it and I'd love to be a part of it," Boxley said.

Thomas led the Patriots in both rushing and receiving yards this year, and is excited he found his place on a division one football team.

"It feels good. It feels like everything is lifted off you, knowing that you get to go to college, not only to play football but to play football for free. Not only me, but my mom definitely cause she worked really hard to get me here. She probably worked harder than me honestly. I wanna be a part of the rebuilding process. I wanna be that team, the winning team. I wanna help them get better," Thomas said.
