Radford at Carroll County and Bland at Galax

The Radford Bobcats were 7 and 1 entering tonight, just a year after going 2 and 8. The resurgent Cats tried to keep the momentum rolling against a much improved Carroll County team. Anthony Romano has the highlights from that one plus the Bland-Galax matchup.

Bland at Galax

Radford came into Friday 7-1, and that includes a perfect 3-0 on the road.
The Bobcats close out their schedule with two more away from home, including Friday's matchup at Carroll County.

One of those nights you can tell who played just by looking at the uniforms...Radford taking on Carroll County.

3Q, Bobcats QB Zane Rupe airing it out...and it is caught...nice catch by the senior Jaylin Taylor...Bobcats go on to kick a field goal....

One injury note, sophomore RB PJ Prioleau was injured on the opening kickoff of the second half on this run...he walked off the field gingerly for the Bobcats...certainly a loss for Radford's offense...

But it didn't hamper them the rest of this game...4Q, Rupe looking end zone...TD JW Bethea...Radford takes a 31-0 lead.

Then later in the quarter, handoff is to Darius Wesley-Brubeck, somehow stays on his feet, and there he goes...shoulder pad trying to break free...he's brought down just shy of the goal line...big gain for the Bobcats...

and then the handoff again to Wesley-Brubeck...this time he finds the end zone...Radford keeps its perfect road record alive with a 38-7 win over Carroll County.

Umbrellas were plentiful in Galax as well, where the Maroon Tide hosted Bland County...

and Galax had the offense cookin' very early in this game...first offensive drive for the Tide, QB Cole Pickett keeps it himself, politely hands that ball to the official, nobody wants a wet ball on a night like this...Galax up 7-0...

Later in the 1st...the camera lens is a little blurry, and so too must have been Blake Brown...not 1, not 2, but three broken tackles to do it the hard way...Maroon Tide up 14-zip...

Definitely a night for those ponchos...4th Down for Bland County...FUMBLEROOSKI, recovered by Galax, doesn't matter, would have been there ball anyway...

Yes, 1st down for the Maroon Tide, thank you coach...and a handoff to Brendun Bryson for another 1st quarter score...

This one got a little ugly folks...Galax wins 61-7 over Bland County.
