SALEM, Va. (WDBJ7) -- The Glenvar Highlanders had won three straight games following a bit of a rough start.

The Highlanders took on a one loss Radford team tonight in Highlander Heaven. Anthony Romano has the lowdown on the Three Rivers Showdown, our Spotlight Game of the Week.

Playoff implications on the line with just three games left in the regular season.

No scoring in the first quarter, so we'll pick things up in the second. Bobcats driving, QB Zane Rupe with the pump fake, and then lets one fly deep down the sideline, but he is picked off by Glenvar's Nicholas Seabolt. And he's gonna take off. Crossing the field, loses his balance a bit, and eventually gets taken down inside Bobcat territory.

Best field position so far for the Highlanders, but on the next play, Brady Loder, one of the stars for Glenvar offensively, got banged up. He would leave the field, walking gingerly to the sideline.

Eventually, Glenvar set up for a Kaid Fuhrman field goal attempt. The kick was up and good, but a Radford got called for running into the kicker.

Highlanders get new life, and cash in. Colby Street on the carry, pushes it in from two yards out. Highlanders strike first, they lead 7-0.

Near the end of the half, Bobcats looking to respond. Rupe runs around in the pocket, and again looks deep, but again, he's picked off, and again, it's Nicholas Seabolt who secures the Glenvar takeaway. Highlanders took their 7-0 lead into halftime.

In the third quarter, Bobcats on the move, Rupe calls his own number, finds the edge and there's nobody to stop him. The Radford quarterback waltzes into the end zone, and we're all tied up at 7 apiece.

Radford went up 10-7 on a 4th quarter field goal, and then later, Rupe going back to the air, beautiful ball down the sideline, and this time its hauled in by the Bobcats' Jerzee Johnson.

That set up another Conner Lytton field goal, and the Bobcats take a 13-7 lead.

So, the Highlanders know what they need to do, as Glenvar takes over with the clock winding down in the 4th. And right on cue, Street makes the catch and gives Glenvar a nice gain right off the bat, into Radford territory.

The Highlanders would face a 4th down and 2, no timeouts, game on the line. The pass goes out to Street, but he can't haul it in.

Ruled incomplete, turnover on downs. Bobcats take over and the celebration is on. Radford gets the late defensive stand near the goal line to secure a 13-7 win over Glenvar.
