Radford basketball soars to 7-0 in the Big South for the first time

RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ) -- The Highlanders are sitting pretty in that top spot of the Big South, as they continue to impress under Head Coach Mike Jones, adding another win to their belt last night against Charleston Southern.

For the first time in school history, the Highlanders are 7-0 in conference play, also 9-0 when playing at Dedmon. A great accomplishment, but nothing to hang their hat on just yet, with tough teams like Campbell on the horizon.

"We're not even halfway through the league right now. The really tough part of our schedule is coming up. These guys started playing on the road at Longwood and that was tough. They've answered the bell so far, but we just gotta keep answering the bell, one bell at a time," head coach Mike Jones said. "Campbell is coming in here with the guy who is scoring at unbelievable clip in the country and in our league, so that's gonna be a really big challenge. They're a really good team and much improved from last year. We just gotta focus on them and try to answer the bell, step up to the challenge, no matter who stands in front of us."
