UVA football gets a taste of life on the fast track

CHARLOTTE, Va. (WDBJ) -- Charlotte is literally revving up for this Saturday's Belk Bowl!

UVA football got to experience life on the fast track today at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Each player and head coach Bronco Mendenhall got to take a few laps around the track with a professional driver, and some of them were shocked with feeling of 200 miles per hour.

"My driver, man, he was pushing it to the metal. A couple times I was gonna ask him to slow down, but I just gripped onto the sides and we were alight," junior quarterback Bryce Perkins said.

"Doing things like this is fun. Once you get to come out here with the guys, and a lot of guys seem like they're really excited to come out here and finally get in a car. Cause they've never been to something like this or been a part of anything like this so it's a good feeling," senior safety Juan Thornhill said.

On Thursday, the Cavaliers will visit Second Harvest Food Bank and go crazy with a shopping spree at Belk.
