CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) -- While most of the grounds are empty, UVA football is still there, giving up a full Christmas break to be as ready as humanly possible for the Belk Bowl in nine days.
Starters joined the rest of the team on the practice field Wednesday.
"I think everybody was really excited to be back out there. We're finally playing football and not just running and lifting. We're ready. We're back. The Tech loss, it was hurting us pretty much, but we're over that and just ready to get this bowl win," senior safety Juan Thornhill said.
"We know the more work we can get in now, the better off we're gonna be then. That's what coach talks about all the time. The game is won by whoever prepares better. This year, we kinda have a better feel for it. We know we gotta stomp on the gas early, get going," senior offensive lineman Jake Fieler said.
"We know what we have to do. We know how challenging it's gonna be, but we're prepared for it. We just really want to touch down in Charlotte already. If we could play tomorrow we would. That's how motivated we are," junior quarterback Bryce Perkins said.
