VMI gets within ten before falling to Mercer

LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ) -- VMI hosted Mercer on a busy day of football in Lexington and in front of a packed out Alumni Memorial Field.

The Keydets down 27-14 but making some headway. Reece Udinski fires a bullet to Devone Humphrey to move the chains, as VMI inches closer to the endzone. Udinkski's handoff goes to the Brookville grad Quan Myers. He muscles his way through traffic for the touchdown. A missed extra point and it's 27-20 at the half. But no comeback story Saturday, as the Keydets fall 48-38 on home turf.
