ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) -- William Byrd had won 6 in a row over William Fleming but the Terriers had lost five in a row since beating Cave Spring on opening night.
The Colonels led it 21-13 at the break.
And they got the ball to start the third quarter. Fleming's Demontra Kasey scrambles but gets picked by Terrier junior Isaac Fix to set Byrd up in Fleming territory.
Byrd's gonna make good on that interception. Nathan Patrick pushes this field goal through the uprights to make this a 5 point ballgame.
Next drive - Fleming's Deaquan Nichols can't hold on to the pigskin and gives the Terriers another gift. Tyler Dean makes the recovery for Byrd.
But the Terriers couldn't stand prosperity. Joshua Moore lets this one slip out of his hands and Nashon Bonds recovers to give the ball back to Fleming.
The Byrd 'd rose up on a three and out before Joshua Moore goes on a 29 yard scamper to put the Terrier's on top late, 23 - 21.
Last chance here for the Colonels. Nichols goes to the air - but it's Logan Baker for Byrd that brings it down. Terriers escape this one with a win, their second of the year 23 - 21.
