Crews respond to large fire in Franklin County
A WDBJ7 reporter said smoke could be seen from miles away.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - A large fire has broken out at the OmniSource recycling center in Franklin County.
Several fire departments in the area have responded to the fire, which started around 9 a.m. Thursday.
The facility is located on Commerce Rd. off Hwy. 220 south of Rocky Mount.
The fire has been contained to the scrap yard area, public safety officials told WDBJ7.
Officials say no businesses are being threatened and no injuries have been reported.
It’s unclear what caused the fire.
