Power pole taken out in Bedford car crash, one injured

BEDFORD, Va. (WDBJ) - The Bedford Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle crash in Bedford, taking out a power pole and leaving one person injured Saturday morning.

At 6:15 a.m. November 8, The Bedford Fire Department encountered the crash in the 2500 block of W. Lynchburg Salem Turnpike.

The electrical base of the pole was severed and left the pole hanging from its live wires overhead; AEP officials were called in, according to Bedford FD.

The driver left the vehicle with minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, said first responders.
