Business truck lost in 3-alarm Roanoke fire
ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - The owners of Chris’s Coffee and Custard say their truck was at Noke Van Co. the night of Friday night’s 3-alarm fire in Roanoke. Work was being done on the truck. But now, the business is without a truck following that fire.
Owner Beth Woodrum says Noke Van Co., which builds, services and rents specialized vans, did an amazing job on their truck and it was a real staple for their company. They have insurance to help out with the costs, but they’re also leaning on the community.
They have a fundraiser going on. Johnson Orthodontics is matching the donations up to $20,000.
Beth and her son, Chris, say the loss of this truck is giving them a blank space to start over.
“I think we all look at this as devastating,” Woodrum said, “but also an opportunity for God to work through this. For him to shine out and see His glory in what He does for all of us during this hard time. It’s just an opportunity for us to refocus and rebuild up from the ashes.”
Woodrum says this financial setback is not impacting their plans to renovate historic Starkey School into the new home of Chris’s Coffee & Custard.
