Capital campaign launched to bring Chris’s Coffee & Custard home to Roanoke County
ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - The mission of LovABLE SERVICES is to create meaningful opportunities for young adults with disabilities within the community.
And now, there is a capital campaign underway to return Chris’s Coffee & Custard back to its roots in Roanoke County, close to where it all began.
Here @ Home welcomed Beth Woodrum, Executive Director, along with Chris Woodrum, co-owner of Chris’s Coffee & Custard, to talk about the campaign and how the community can get involved.
Chris’s Coffee & Custard started as a place where young adults can pursue their hopes and dreams just like anyone else, fully included and valued by society.
Chris’s Coffee & Custard started in 2021 not just a place of business, but of community and learning, providing critical training and employment opportunities to people with disabilities.
Now, they’re hoping the community will help them expand this vision as they transform the historic Starkey School into the new home of Chris’s Coffee & Custard.
The Starkey School, a landmark known to many in our community, offers the perfect space to expand the mission and deepen the impact of LovABLE SERVICES.
This project represents a dual opportunity: preserving a significant historical building and enhancing the lives of individuals with special abilities.
These funds will cover the costs of purchasing and renovating the Starkey School, transforming it into a vibrant community hub where history and inclusiveness meet.
If you would like to donate to this mission, and for more details to donate, contact Beth Woodrum at Beth@lovableservices.org, or call at (540) 353-4750 to discuss your donation or custom giving ideas.
