Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs reveal new logo and uniforms

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs revealed their new logo and jersey at an event held at Berglund Center Wednesday, July 9, according to the organization.

Hockey fans at the event heard from the principal owner and chairman of Breakaway Sports & Entertainment, Jamie McGinn, as he spoke about the team’s upcoming ten-year mark as a franchise, according to the team.

Designed by Fooser Sports Design, the logo features “cleaner lines and a more modern aesthetic,” said the franchise.

“While updated, the new logos continue to reflect key elements of the Dawgs’ identity—most notably, Roanoke’s iconic star and the region’s rich railroad history.”

The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs begin their 2025-2026 regular season campaign on Friday, October 17 at 7:05 p.m.
