Charges dropped against country star Bailey Zimmerman for hotel incident, reports say
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (Gray News) — Charges were dropped against country music star Bailey Zimmerman for trashing a hotel room in New Mexico.
Zimmerman’s lawyer confirmed to People and Rolling Stone that the charges were dropped after Zimmerman “took immediate responsibility for his mistake.”
The Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office also confirmed to KRQE that the case was dismissed after Zimmerman paid in full for the damage he caused.

Zimmerman also issued a statement obtained by People. In it, he apologized to the community and to the resort, writing in part:
“I am deeply sorry for my actions that transpired. I respect your community and the hospitality and appreciate the opportunity that was given to me to perform on Native Land. I take full accountability for everything that happened and I am sorry to anyone who feels hurt or disrespected.”
Zimmerman also apologized to his fans, saying, “I am so sorry, you deserved better from me.”
According to Billboard, prosecutors filed an arrest warrant June 18 against the singer, stemming from an incident at a resort on May 27.
Zimmerman, 26, was charged with felony criminal property damage of more than $1,000. He was also facing a misdemeanor charge related to the incident.
TMZ first reported on the charges.
Zimmerman was scheduled to perform at an amphitheater in the area on May 27, but he reportedly stumbled, acted hostilely and threw stage equipment during soundcheck.
TMZ said Zimmerman left the soundcheck, canceled the show and returned to the resort.
The singer later wrote on his Instagram story that he was rescheduling his shows on May 27 and May 28.
“I have not been feeling well and have tried to power through, but I am not able to give you all the show you deserve,” the singer wrote.
Page Six reported the show was canceled about 40 minutes before it was supposed to start.
According to TMZ, the resort tried to kick Zimmerman out due to his behavior, but staff eventually called the police. The singer was escorted off the property.
Resort staff later found that Zimmerman’s hotel room had been destroyed. TMZ said there was $16,000 worth of damage, including holes in the walls, stains on the carpet and damage to the TV.
Zimmerman also charged more than $400 worth of alcohol to his room and did not pay for it, according to TMZ.
Zimmerman is known for songs like “Fall in Love,” “A Rock and a Hard Place,” “Where It Ends” and “Religiously.” He has had 10 songs appear on the Billboard Hot 100.
His career took off in 2021 after posting singing videos on TikTok. His debut studio album was released in 2023.
