Early voting underway for Lynchburg’s dual primary election

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) - The City of Lynchburg Office of the General Registrar is reminding registered voters there is still time to vote early for the Aug. 4, 2026, Dual Primary Election.

Early voting is available at the Office of the General Registrar, 825 Kemper St., Suite A, during the following remaining dates and hours:

• Monday through Friday, through July 31: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Sunday, July 19: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Saturday, July 25: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Sunday, July 26: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Saturday, Aug. 1: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The final day to vote early in person is Saturday, Aug. 1.

The registrar’s office says, “Virginia’s no-excuse early voting law allows any registered voter to cast a ballot before Election Day without providing a reason. Voters should bring an acceptable form of identification. Those who do not have an acceptable ID may still vote by completing an ID Confirmation Statement at the voting location.”

Election Day is Tuesday, Aug. 4. Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Any voter in line by 7:00 p.m. will be permitted to vote.
