Virginia Egg Council launches first virtual youth culinary scholarship contest
Teens have until Sept. 10 to submit recipes for the new online competition
DOSWELL, Va. (WDBJ) - The Virginia Egg Council is hosting the first-ever virtual Youth Culinary Scholarship Competition, according to Mary Rapoport with the Virginia Egg Council.
The Virginia Egg Council has sponsored a teen scholarship recipe contest several times through the State Fair of Virginia. Last year, 17 teens submitted finished products, recipes and 250-word reports to the State Fair of Virginia for judging, the most entries the contest has received.
New virtual format
This year, the competition is moving to a virtual format for the first time. The deadline for submissions is Sept. 10.
To enter, participants must send a Virginia Egg Council submission form, a 250-word written overview, a recipe with a photo, and a 45-second to two-minute video to kmoir@virginiaeggcouncil.org . WeTransfer should be used to share large files such as video content.
Participants must also complete the online application for the Youth Culinary Scholarship Competition through the State Fair of Virginia.
