Tuesdays of Honor: Thomas F. Steele
Thomas served as a U.S. Navy Corpsman during the Vietnam war.
ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - This next Tuesdays of Honor goes to Thomas F. Steele, from his wife of 49 years, Karen Steele.
Thomas served as a U.S. Navy Corpsman during the Vietnam war.
He took care of the wounded and sick troops, as well as civilians, on the Navy hospital ship USS Sanctuary in the South China Sea.
The remainder of his four years of service was spent caring for Marines at Parris Island, South Carolina.
He earned the rank of E5, Hospitalman 2nd Class.
Thomas is now a retired osteopathic family physician, enjoying living in the mountains of Southwest Virginia.
