“Mother Nature was the cause...”: Bedford home condemned after tree falls into house

BEDFORD, Va. (WDBJ) - A tree fell into a home Wednesday evening, according to the Bedford Fire Department.

Crews said they responded to the 2400 block of Dickerson Mill Road in Bedford at 6:26 p.m. Sept. 9; crews also said they found the owner of the home outside with no injuries.

The team inspected the home to find the damage to be mostly cosmetic, along with minor roof intrusion from a branch, Bedford FD said.

“Due to the size of the tree resting on the roof, the home was deemed condemned, according to personnel.

“Mother Nature was the cause of this incident.”

The treefall was similar to one that happened in Bedford just a week earlier.
