Buffalo Trails take over Trailhead ATV Resort in Boissevain

TAZEWELL, Va. (WVVA) - The Trailhead ATV Resort is now under new ownership with Buffalo Trail Cabins.

“We’re hoping to continue to expand in this area. We have ideas of ways that we can help grow the resort as well as the store,” said Shelena Hastings, general manager of Buffalo Trail.

The original resort opened in 2016.

Now under Buffalo Trail, the cabin lodging location will see changes moving forward, including moving the company store building on-site and turning it into a rental cabin.

“That is probably going to be one of our first projects as far as expansion. So, that will be another rental that will probably accommodate anywhere from two to ten people. It’ll have a full kitchen, living room, multiple bedrooms, - that kind of thing,” Hastings said.

The company store has moved to the gas station across the street, giving more room for future projects in the coming years.

While Buffalo Trail owns the cabins and resorts, vehicle rentals will be covered by Trailhead Adventures, providing access to the Hatfield-McCoy and Spearhead Trail systems.

“We’re excited to be able to be a part of the Boissevain community and the community just as far as with the Spearhead Trail System and the Virginia area – I think this will be a wonderful opportunity for just, you know, continued growth,” Hastings said.
