Franklin County golf club torched by morning fire
The owner says the club will remain closed until further notice.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - An early morning fire destroyed dozens of golf carts at a Franklin County golf course.
The fire began around 5:30 a.m. Friday at Copper Cove Golf Club (formerly Westlake Country Club) on Chestnut Creek Dr.
Around a dozen area fire and EMS departments were called to the scene.
The fire caused extensive damage to the clubhouse. The owner told WDBJ7 it also destroyed the club’s entire fleet of 52 golf carts.
No injuries were reported.
The owner says the club will remain closed until further notice.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
