Residents celebrate 100 years of life

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - It’s not every day someone gets to celebrate a 100th birthday.

But at Woodland Hills Independent Living, there were two people celebrating the century mark this past week.

Martha Allison and Edward Fox had never had birthday parties. Friday, their friends changed that as they gathered for a celebration they would never forget.

Martha shared her secret to good health.

“Hard work and trying to take, you take care of yourself as you go along. You have to. I just think this is the most wonderful day I’ve ever had,” she said.

A third person was also celebrating a special birthday.

Mary Price turned 101 in July and had her moment to shine alongside Martha and Edward.
