Hometown Eats: Salem Ridge Yaks

SALEM, Va. (WDBJ) - It’s a new day for baseball in Salem, VA as the Ridge Yaks take the field for the first time on April 2. Not only is the name new, there are several new menu items that fans can expect to find.

Food manager DJ gave us a sneak peak of the “Botetourt Barnyard” burger: beef patty, chicken patty, bacon, egg, cheese, and ‘Yak Sauce’

DJ hopes this sandwich will be the biggest in the Carolina League.

We also tried the Mac & Cheesesteak, West Side Western, and the Mac Track Sundae with Homestead Creamery ice cream.

DJ says to be on the lookout throughout the season for specialty items that poke fun at the visiting teams.
