3K+ homes without power in parts of City of Roanoke, Roanoke and Franklin counties

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - 3000+ residences in parts of the City of Roanoke, as well as Roanoke and Franklin counties, were experiencing a power outage as of 11:40 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2026, according to the Appalachian Power Outage Map.

The noon outage data showed:

• 762 residences without power in Franklin County
• 1,474 residences without power in Roanoke County
• 944 residences without power in City of Roanoke

The data also say the power outage began at approximately 8:08 a.m.; the estimated time the power would be back on for those affected is 1:30 p.m.
