Tazewell PD asks for public’s help locating stolen excavator

TAZEWELL, Va. (WDBJ) - The Tazewell Police Department says it’s seeking the public’s help locating a stolen excavator, taken in the middle of the week of June 29, 2026.

Police say a yellow and black 2011 Caterpillar 305.5 DCR excavator was taken from a family farm by one or more people in the 1500 block of Fairgrounds Rd. in North Tazewell at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Police also say the excavator was loaded onto long flatbed bumper pull trailer attached to an early 2000’s white Ford F-250 or F-350 pickup truck with gray underbody trim.
